On 14 November, the National Library Board of Singapore (NLB) organizes a talk in honour of the 150th anniversary of “Through the Looking-Glass and what Alice found there”. You can follow it online through Zoom.

Assistant Professor Katherine Wakely-Mulroney will discuss how we might approach Carroll’s story as a reflection of his anxieties concerning childhood, aging, and memory. She will also speak about how other Victorian writers reflected the ‘Alice’ style in their own imitative children’s books.

Note that you can only attend this event if you are a member of the National Library Board in Singapore. However, it looks like you can sign up for a myLibrary account for free, without actually having to purchase a library subscription.

Date: 14 November 2021
Time: 03:00 – 04:30 CET
